In a sneaky late Friday afternoon dump of board appointments, the Palaszczuk Labor government has handed a plum Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Board appointment to an out-of-town Labor mate over Sunshine Coast locals.
Member for Kawana, Jarrod Bleijie, slammed the appointment of ex-Labor MP from Townsville, Anita Phillips, and labelled it as a slap in the face for Sunshine Coast locals and the region.
“Annastacia Palaszczuk and her Health Minister are only interested in creating jobs for Labor mates, instead of jobs for everyday Queenslanders,” Mr Bleijie said.
“How is it that an ex-Labor MP from Townsville can score a plumb gig on the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Board over a Sunshine Coast local?
“Were there no locals who could serve on the board?
“I’m extremely concerned that this out-of-town ex-Labor MP does not have the Sunshine Coast community at heart.
“This is just another example of Annastacia Palaszczuk giving her Labor mates another round on the gravy train,” he said.
