Kawana MP Jarrod Bleijie is helping local sport and community groups beat the heat this summer.

The MP today announced a new marquee is now available on loan to Kawana community groups to assist them with outdoor functions.

The all-weather marquee measures 3m x 3m and is available for use now.

“We are lucky to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle here in Kawana – every weekend sports and community groups make use of our many wonderful sports fields, parks and recreation areas for competitions and community events,” Mr Bleijie said.

“But as we head into summer being sun smart is vitally important.

“I am confident this marquee will help spare our local community and sport groups the expense of buying additional outdoor tents and shade structures as we head into the warmer months.

“Community groups work hard to raise funds for equipment and I’m pleased that this marquee may assist them.”

Last month Mr Bleijie provided various local clubs with bottled drinking water to help beat the heat this spring.
