The Kawana Electorate was first created in 2001 and has a population of close to 39,000 electors.

Kawana takes in the suburbs of Minyama, Buddina, Parrearra, Warana, Bokarina, Birtinya, Wurtulla, Currimundi, Aroona, Meridan Plains, Little Mountain and Caloundra West.

This electorate will play a major role in the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, hosting a number of sporting events and activities, with new infrastructure projects set to be delivered to accommodate the fast growth of Sunshine Coast community.

Kawana is also home to six local schools:
