LNP commits $5 million to fix Parklands Boulevard

LNP Member for Kawana Jarrod Bleijie has announced that an LNP Government would invest $5 million to fix a key Sunshine Coast congestion spot at the busy Parklands Boulevard.

“For too long families living near Meridan State College have been battling congestion around Parklands Boulevard because of inaction from Annastacia Palaszczuk and the local Sunshine Coast Council,” Mr Bleijie said.

“This issue has been raised with me by local residents and I supported a petition on their behalf to assist the local council with funding for this upgrade.

“I’m concerned that this road is so unsafe that children and residents are at risk of serious injury or death.

“This is why an LNP Government will invest $5 million to upgrade Parklands Boulevard to assist families and children to travel between school and home without getting caught in traffic.

“This upgrade will allow motorists safer access to the area, and is all part of the LNP’s commitment to build the congestion-busting infrastructure that Queenslanders need.

“Instead of sitting around talking about building infrastructure like Annastacia Palaszczuk, the LNP has put its money where its mouth is.”

Mr Bleijie said Queenslanders could not afford another three years of a Labor Government which cut billions of dollars of infrastructure spending over the last three years.

“A vote for anyone other than the LNP will see a return of a do-nothing Labor Government which has the wrong priorities and has taken the people of Kawana for granted and not delivered,” he said.

LNP Leader Tim Nicholls said only the LNP’s Jarrod Bleijie would deliver the upgraded Parklands Boulevard for the Kawana community.

“Only a vote for Jarrod Bleijie will see this congestion busting project become a reality,” Mr Nicholls said.
