Thousands of jobs lost on Sunshine Coast under do-nothing Labor

The Palaszczuk Government’s economic incompetence is failing the Sunshine Coast with 11,000 jobs lost in the past year according to the latest ABS data.
Shadow Employment Minister Jarrod Bleijie said it’s clear this do-nothing Palaszczuk government has no plan to deliver much needed jobs for the Sunshine Coast.

“Labor’s neglect has seen 11,000 jobs disappear from the Sunshine Coast in the past year, and sadly 600 of those have been lost in just the past month,” Mr Bleijie said.

“To make matters worse, there has been a mass exodus of people from the workforce with 12,300 jobseekers simply giving up looking for a work under the Palaszczuk government.

“Young people are also losing out, with 4,500 youth jobs going from the Sunshine Coast in the past 12 months.

“Across Queensland we have seen almost 30,000 full-time jobs disappear from Queensland in just one year.

“We have the equal second highest unemployment rate in the country. No matter what measure you look at, our unemployment rate is far worse than the national average.

“Only the LNP has a plan to focus on six key economic drivers to Build a Better Queensland and deliver the jobs needed to restart our economy.”
