Do you know someone who works tirelessly for others, or the greater good of the community?
Would you like to see them recognised for the difference they make?
I’m again holding the Kawana Electorate Queensland Day Community Awards to recognise our hard-working Kawana community champions.
Nominees come from all walks of life – it may be someone who you work with in a local community organisation, a local resident who goes out of his or her way to help others, a neighbour or an aged care worker – anyone.
I know Kawana has many people who go out of their way to help others and I am calling on residents to nominate them for recognition.
The 2014 Kawana Electorate Queensland Day Community Awards will be held on Friday, August 29. There are still a few weeks left to get your nominations in to ensure our local community champions receive the recognition they deserve for the work they do.
I’ve thanked hundreds of community-minded Kawana folk at the Kawana Electorate Queensland Day Community Awards in past years and I look forward to doing the same in August.
Often the hard work of our volunteers goes unnoticed but without their contribution society would suffer. This event began as a way residents could honour the volunteers who help keep the Kawana community ticking.
To nominate, contact my office for a form on (07) 5478 1189, or CLICK HERE to download one. I ask that you provide a name and contact details for your nominated community champion, and a short summary on their contribution. Nominations close Monday, 18 August.
I hope to see you at the
2014 Kawana Electorate
Queensland Day Community Awards
to be held at Pacific Lutheran College
from 9am, August 29.
All members of the community are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to my office on (07) 5478 1189.
Regards,
Jarrod
