Condolence book to recognise MH17 plane tragedy victims and families

MH17

Kawana residents are invited to sign a special condolence book honouring the memory of those who died in the MH17 plane tragedy.

Residents can also leave messages of support, in the book, for the many families who have lost loved ones in the tragedy.

Kawana MP Jarrod Bleijie has invited local residents to write in the book at his Minyama office. Tributes can also be left at electorate offices across Queensland and online.

“This book is one way Kawana residents can show the families of those lost that they are in our thoughts and our prayers during this difficult time,” Mr Bleijie said.

“This tragedy has affected many people and those who I’ve spoken to in my travels have said how much they would like to be able to do something to help those who have lost friends and family.

“Messages left in these books will let those affected by this tragedy know that they are not grieving alone.”

Condolence books will be collected from electorate offices across the state, collated and presented to the next of kin and families of victims.

Messages can also be left online at www.qld.gov.au/mh17 The condolence books will be available to sign until close of business Friday, 8 August.

“I welcome anyone wishing to send a message of support to the families, and to express their sorrow at this tragic loss of life to write in the condolence book.

“My office is at 4/3 Nicklin Way, Minyama. All are welcome.”
